The medical industry at large has an inequality problem. For women physicians in particular, the hurdles to achieving a successful career can be overwhelming.

As an industry leader, Allergan Aesthetics wanted to help facilitate this discussion, shining a light on these broader inequalities and influencing those who have the power to create real change.

FI5TH was tasked with creating a powerful documentary series that highlights the experiences of working women physicians, dives into difficult conversations about the inequities in the workplace, and bridged the gap to the next generation of women in STEM.

This series needed to be effective enough to be promoted across Allergan Aesthetics social channels, shown at industry events, and shared by key industry leaders. Help us build a #FutureForWomenInSTEM.

The Fi5th approach

Leveraging an industry committee of 9 world-renowned doctors, we established three key goals needed to shape the future of women in STEM: inspire industry activation, educate and empower the next generation, and raise awareness and trust.

To communicate our mission, we cast three women physicians for the series, as well as one future STEM leader, conducted in-depth pre-interviews, gathered and sourced industry data, and established key discussion points.

With a women-led production team both on and off camera, our north star was creating something meaningful to ignite conversations and inspire real change across the medical industry.

Through a paid media plan, leveraged industry partnerships and event activations, #FutureForWomenInSTEM engaged a wide audience across dermatology and plastics, opening up a dialogue to inspire real impact for the future generations of women in STEM.

Receiving over 3,000,000 impressions and 900,000+ engagements across brand channels alone, the series generated historically high viewership for Allergan Aesthetics, totaling over 8 months of watch time throughout the campaign period.
